For over 2000 years, the Marmore Waterfalls has offered a unique spectacle to its visitors. Created by the Romans in 271 BC, it has undergone further modifications over the centuries and today is one of the highest in Europe at 165 meters in height. The waterfall can be visited by following paths surrounded by lush vegetation. There are 6 routes of varying difficulty through forests, wet meadows and rich moss communities. Access to the Marmore Falls Park is by payment: one of the few nature sites in Italy which can not be visited for free.
“2022 was truly an extraordinary year for tourism in Terni: there are many data released in recent days as confirmation of this. Among these there is also a record we are very proud of: the achievement, for the first time, of half a million admissions to the Waterfall Park and the archaeological park of Carsulae”.
Record numbers for the Ternano area. The news was reported by Councillor for Tourism of the Municipality of Terni, Elena Proietti, who directly congratulated Vivaticket staff, involved in several park’s services, with commemorative plaque dedicated to the half million admissions.
Rising numbers also for merchandising (+6.000 items sold between 2021 and 2022) and an increase in organised groups (from 13.000 to 22.000). Also interesting is the relevance of schools which represent an important lever for the future. From 3.000, it increased up to 12.000, naturally all this was made possible by the gradual easing of restrictions dictated by the health emergency.
Since 2019, Vivaticket has been offering its services to the naturalistic site and the Archaeological Carsulae area, managing both the ticketing and access control as well as the services related to the actual all-round management, including tourist assistance services, the planning and management of guided tours and educational activities, the management of food& beverage and hygiene services, the parking and camper van area, the shuttles and the groups and schools service.
Thanks to Vivaticket’s ticketing system, visitors can purchase not only entrance tickets but also bundled services online, including guided tours and parking: an innovation that eliminates any queuing upon arrival. In addition, online and onsite sales of combined tickets with other tourist attractions in the area have also been activated to promote tourism development throughout the Terni area.
